EA & Spielberg Team Up

Electronic Arts today announced that it is teaming up with movie director Steven Spielberg to create three new, original, game franchises. Spielberg will "offer his signature style of storytelling to the concept, design, story and artistic visualization" to the games, which will be developed by EA's Los Angeles studio.

"I have been playing EA games for years and have watched them master the interactive format." said Steven Spielberg. "Having watched the game industry grow from a niche into a major creative force in entertainment, I have a great deal of respect for EA's understanding of the interactive format. I'm looking forward to working closely with the team in Los Angeles."

Wow. Two really sucky things together at last.

Spielberg used to be something. EA used to release decent games. Sadly, not so much anymore.

    Yeah, I mean those Lord of the Rings things were great.. Who cares if he messed up the whole star wars thing.

  Minority Report is one of my favorite Spielberg movies, and it's only a couple years old. Now back when his latest movie was Lost World I might have been more inclined to agree with you.

    Minority Report is a loud, meandering waste of a good Philip K. Dick work.
    
    The last REALLY REALLY REALLY good Spielberg film was Saving Private Ryan and there are already too many WWII games out there because of it.

      Yes Shaving Ryan's Privates was an awesome movie. That D-Day beach landing at the start had me fucking white knuckled and nearly in tears it felt so real...man I hope I never have to do something like that. Whenever I watch that movie I wish there was a WWII vet sitting beside me so I could give him a big hug and a handshake of thanks.
      
      War of the Worlds is ALMOST a great movie...I feel a new ending and maybe a change or two here and there and it would have been absolutely amazing.

  Both Speildberg and EA are awesome, and make good solid products. I love most of spielburgs work, with the exception of A.I, and EA makes solid fun games.
