According to a subscription-only story on the Wall Street Journal website, id software co-founder Adrian Carmack has filed a lawsuit against the Mesquite, Texas based developer following his dismissal from the company earlier this year. According to Carmack, he was fired by the other owners after he wouldn't take a $20 million buyout offer, and contends id turned down an acquisition offer from Activision just to get his shares for a lower price. This supposed Activision offer, made last year, offered id Software $90 million for the rights to Quake, DOOM and Wolfenstein and supposedly Activision was considering a $105 million bid for the entire company as well. According to the court filing, Carmack claims his share would've been 41%. Thanks Blues News.
