Truly "Shocking" Games Coming Soon
A Texas-based company is selling a combat simulator to assault forces around the world that offers the ultimate in sensory feedback: a powerful electric shock. VirTra Systems' product places a person in the center of 360-degree screen that displays different scenarios, such as a hostage situation, suicide bombing attempt, and gun fights, among others. If the player isn't quick to kill his enemies, they may fire back and the player will feel it as the game shocks you via a hip attachment. "It has the same power as a stun gun. It knocks you down," said spokesman Steve Haag.
The U.S. military is currently using this technology and praises it as it accurately simulates the stress of battle with trainees experiencing "rapid heart rates, sweaty palms and fear." Haag believes it's only a matter of time until they release a consumer version. Read the whole article here.
