PSP Supporting MPEG-4 Playback Sony has updated the official PSP website with new details that explain the PSP can now download and playback MPEG-4 encoded files. Stick the files onto the Memory Stick Duo and off you go. Since the format isn't widely supported, Sony will release a converter program that users can purchase. The exact methodology on how to download and play the movie files will be disclosed at a later date. |

Mistwalker Outlays Early Agenda Mistwalker, the studio founded by the father of Final Fantasy, Hironobu Sakaguchi, has updated their website with a few scant details about its planned agenda. Sakaguchi posted that he has drafted the scripts for two RPG projects. The company will work with Smile Please, the music studio founded by composer Nobuo Uematsu, best known for his Final Fantasy soundtracks. "We're hoping to bring a new sensation to games," said Sakaguchi. "It's a bit ambitious, but I want to keep challenging myself. I think games have a lot of depth as an entertainment, and there's still a lot of unexplored territory." |

No Online Mode for Rise of the Kasai If you were looking to play Sony's first-party title Rise of the Kasai over the 'net, prepare for disappointment. SCEA announced it has lost its online functionality. While no wholly specific answer was given, it appears the decision was made to have it available for a first quarter 2005 release. |
