Late Night Consoling
| N5 Announcement at E3? Firing a shot off the bow of any doubters, Nintendo may wind up formally announcing their next console system at this year's E3 in May. That's apparently what the Japanese news outlet Mainichi Daily is saying, although I'd be pretty skeptical of that until there's an official confirmation on it. Even if there is an announcement, I'd be extremely surprised if it were anything more than the press release + pre-rendered footage I'm expecting from the other two console makers. On a related note, here's Nintendo's official statement about yesterday's suggestion they would be delaying the N5. |

| PlayStation Emulator for PocketPC I never mention emulators here as a general rule, but this is really impressive...some enterprising developers have managed to port an existing PlayStation emulator to the PocketPC. Obviously you'd need a crapload of on-board storage to run any games (because of the lack of a CD drive), so it'll probably cost you an arm and a leg to actually run anything, but it's very cool that they were able to do this at all. Thanks BargainPDA for the tip. |

Zodiac News from PalmOne In other PDA news, today kicked off the PalmOne expo, and there have been a flurry of PDA-related announcements, many of which apply to the Zodiac, Tapwave's Palm-based game system and PDA. You can find a few of these at GameSpy Daily, including word that Tapwave has partnered with PalmGear for a new online store, and also of note was the excellent news that Mark/Space will be adding support for the Zodiac to their Missing Sync software, which adds Mac support to select PDAs. I use Missing Sync with my Clie, so it's very nice to hear. |
| More Lost PS2 Games The second installment of IGN's ongoing article about the lost games of the PS2 is up tonight. Among the games mentioned in this portion are Nightmare Creatures 3, the planned port of Star Wars Galaxies, Trigun: The Planet Gunsmoke and an apparently MIA port of Delta Force: Black Hawk Down. |

| VU Games Signs Hit & Run Developer Vivendi Universal Games announced today that they have signed a multi-game agreement with developer Radical Entertainment, the studio best known for The Simpsons: Hit & Run and The Hulk. The deal is for a whopping six titles, and also includes a royalty-free license for Radical's in-house game technologies. |

| Ninja Gaiden Extras Clarified
(Again) Yet another explanation has surfaced about the three bonus Ninja Gaiden games that will be included as extras in the upcoming Xbox title in the series. While they are essentially the same games as the NES versions, these will in fact be the enhanced versions ported to the SNES for the Ninja Gaiden Trilogy. I promise this is the last time I'll post about this. |

Console Game of the Evening: Yar's Revenge for the Atari 2600. "Simple yet addictive sci-fi themed arcade shooter. An extension of the Asteroids genre. Plenty of fun, frantic action to be had at higher levels." (submitted by kek).
