Using the Apple Store gift certificate I got for renewing my .Mac account, I picked up the Mac version of UT2003 a few weeks back (just prior to my oath not to buy any games for the rest of the year, in case you're wondering). Although I've been using a Mac as my primary desktop machine for about a year now, this marks the first time I've actually bought a game specifically for OS X (WarCraft III doesn't count, as it's a hybrid game). Even when I was using a Windows machine as my desktop, I only kept one or two games on there (usually UT, Quake III or Counter Strike), since I have a separate machine for gaming. But there's something to be said about being able to jump into a quick deathmatch and get back to work without getting up. It's rekindled my love affair with deathmatch. Now if only someone could give me some indication of how long it's going to take for UT2004 to come out for this thing....
