GameSpot has posted their
Intel Developers report,
with updates on the likes of the GeForce 256 and Savage2000. They also interview 3dfx's
Scott Sellers and nVidia's Dan Vivoli. Also,
3DHardware.net has posted
part2 of their GeForce256 feature which gives all the details you could ask for on the
Creative Labs NVidia board. They got in some hot water over
those benchmarks they posted but they
still give out everything else. Here is a bit on those benchmarks:
Whenever T&L gets enabled in Quake III Test, we can
start doing some real benchmarks and enabling all these extra triangles won't hurt the
GeForce 256 one bit. Even now, with ALPHA drivers, the performance drop is very, very low.
Besides, I assume that if Carmack adds those extra settings in the final Quake III, the
results that these console commands give would surely be included in those extra settings.
