Good news for those that really, really don't want an Xbox but still want the
new
Sam & Max game: the official Infinite Machine site says it's
in development for "next gen consoles." Note the plural there.
- Can't say this is too surprising: according
to Video Senki, Square has closed down their movie studio, after Final
Fantasy failed to do any better in Japan than it did here in the US.
- One thing Square is actually moving
ahead with is their Disney RPG Kingdom Hearts, and new shots from the
game (scanned from a Japanese magazine) are
up at The GIA.
- Here are some
screenshots from Pinball of the Dead, Sega's latest crack-addled
entry in their House of the Dead franchise.
- Cube.IGN has posted the
Japanese commercial for Pikmin, the upcoming GameCube game which
could quite possibly be Miyamoto's strangest to date.
- Halo.Bungie.org has a
new screenshot from Halo online, which is available in several
super high-resolution versions, none of which are 640x480, which is of course
the resolution the Xbox version will run in when viewed on a standard television.
- Pocket.IGN has
reviewed Final Fight One, the handheld version of a franchise nobody
expected to see again.
- The official
WRATH site has gone live, featuring tons of screenshots from this
Xbox title from The Collective (who are also making Buffy the Vampire Slayer
for the console).
- Warren Spector sent an update on the PS2 port
of Deus Ex around to a few sites...here
it is at GameSpot.
- Also at GameSpot is an
update on Rogue Leader: Rogue Squadron II, which is a lock for
the American GameCube launch.
Console game of the evening:
Panzer Dragoon Saga for the Sega Saturn. Is
this the greatest RPG ever made? Yes. Yes it is.
