First Look at AvP2
3D Action Planet has taken a first look at Alien versus Predator 2, the upcoming Monolith game. It's a nice overview of what is known so far about this sequel to the original Rebellion game. The first few screenshots we recently saw weren't mind blowing, but sufficient as long as they get the gameplay right (and not make the game so freakin' hard again). Here's a snip
Thankfully, early reports about AvP 2 indicate that Monolith will be doing a lot to make the game more playable while retaining the same grim mood as before. Level design is going to be changed for the better. Instead of finding yourself trapped in dark hallways all the time, or perhaps trapped in a dark hallway, or maybe walking down a hallway (which happens to be dark) and soon finding yourself trapped in it and facing enemies from all directions, the new levels will contain a lot more variety. There will be some more lighting than before, more open spaces, and even outdoor areas.
