Today will blow you away.
The best thing in the world is when your company keeps hiring print design firms to deliver website mockups. Every damn designer that I didn't go out and hire myself has been a print designer and has totally failed to create a good looking comp that I can easily work with. The one I'm working on now was given to me as an InDesign file with a .pdf. So, while there's a full document that lists what CMYK color values we should use when printing out this website, there's nothing that specifies what the resolution of the site should be when I actually go to render this 300dpi .pdf. They also used HelveticaNeue all over the place in areas that are supposed to be text, so that's not going to render properly on any browsers. And just to make the site look busier, they provided some really lame Flash files to be the site's main logo.

Ok, you arent really banned. Yet. But consider this your one and only warning. Yes, this all stems from Felraiser's accusation/admission that someone from RS cheated in the final match of the last TF2 tournament. Of course this means I'm now going to have to register steam IDs in the next tournament, and review the logs for the correct IDs, etc. Basically a lot more work for me. Thanks to whoever that was. You are an asshole for cheating in a community/fun tournament.

Has anyone canceled their preorder or decided not to get it because of IW doing away with dedicated servers?
I'm still going to preorder it but I doubt I'll be getting it at midnight. Not sure if Best Buy is opening at midnight for it anyway and I hate giving Gamestop business.

I had a somewhat unique perspective on SSD's recently.
I installed an Intel G2 SSD in my 4+ yr old athlon x2 3800+ w/ 3gb of ram and put Win7 ultimate on it.
It was fast, very very fast. I installed tons of steam games, etc, office 2k7, vs2005, all kinds of stuff. It remained very very fast.
What do I mean by fast? As soon as you log in and get to your desktop, you can start just about every program on your computer with no waiting. Click Google Chrome, VS2005, MSword 2007, one right after the other, as fast as you can and they all open up near-instantaneously.
Then I built a core i5-750 system around that same SSD, 8gb of ram, Win7 ultimate. In terms of loading the OS and firing up desktop applications like vs2005 and word, it is no faster than my athlon x2. Seriously, there is no noticeable speed difference in normal desktop navigation tasks and desktop applications. There is little or no interface or UI lag. Certainly there is a difference in more processor and ram intensive apps like games and things, no question there.
SSD's could be a real game changer once they come down in price. If they get to the level where good ssd's become an affordable option for prebuilt pc's like Dell and whatever else they sell at best buy, I could easily imagine a significant surge in pc sales as the word gets around that SSD's essentiall "fix" what makes your computer and Windows slow.

Problem is when I start the download it says it needs 16Gb of space to install....and there are four steps on the screen one of which is Extraction and Installation.
Obviously I want to do a clean install on the drive that my current Win7 Ultimate RC is on which involves creating a bootable DVD....is this possible?

I've tried a couple others. A lot of people here have heaped praise on Giant Bombcast but I think those guys have almost no personality, and certainly no humor. It's like overhearing a conversation from the more annoying guys in your office IT department discuss internet providers or something.
I kind of like Rock Paper Shotgun but their audio quality is hilariously lo-fi.
Do you guys think the resurrected Shackcast will fill the void as it were? I enjoyed Alice's UK sarcasm quite a bit, but Faylor could be a bit grating sometimes.

Following yesterday's defused drama bomb, Harverster's team has been barred from participating in the HoN playoffs for manipulating the draft. DrFlammable's prediction that this tourney would be nothing but drama prove false as so far the only drama was created by him and really wasn't that impressive.
Final word on Round robin games for Harvester's team will be announced tomorrow or thursday at the latest.
Juno is the only player on that team that was unaware of the cheating. He is free to join another draft team that is willing to accept him. Up until he joins another team he is pre-authorized as a sub in all round robin matches so that he may still play.

Can't believe there's not a thread yet... Anyway, I went home last night and checked the stats of that Sniper Rifle of Raping Explosions and it seems to have a .9 RoF, 6 shot clip, with 396 damage and Pele demands a sacrifice!. I'm going to conjecture that it's about a 2.0x zoom, but the tooltip is cut off. Seriously, this mother is like handing out death in tight little flaming bundles.

The Mustang Showdown races were a lot of fun, slaloming through NYC especially. The "mustang vs. Camaro" races weren't much fun though, as the camaros didn't have much of a chance.
