$30-$40 bucks per content update? A Guild Wars expansion is $40 bucks, and do you think that the quarterly Hellgate updates will have a fraction of the content of a Guild Wars expansion? A new AAA PC title costs $50 bucks, and many smaller dev publishers release new games for $40 bucks. $9.99 gets you the Oblivion Knights of the Nine modules, which colelcts every single DLC module along with a new quest line. I don't see the cost justification for Hellgate. Unless they can churn out quality content like monkey's on crack, or the single player of this game gets sterling reviews, I just don't have much interest.

what would stop me from just paying the $9.95 when the new content comes out and then canceling my "elite" account ...guess it's their way of giving non-elite-wanting-gamers access to the same content (albeit without the perks) as elite subscribers

i'm totally paying for the better experience. I dont like playing vid games with little kids and the more fees they can put infront of a game the less kids (usually). I remember playing HardCore mode in diablo2 just to get away from the llamas.

All this stuff they talk about should be released in an expansion pack, or even microtransactions. Those models make sense, but not subscribe and we'll give you surprise features every 3-4 months?

Updates? Those sound more like the core of the game to me. They should be there when the game is released, not down the road. Missing that much for the first 4+ months is just going to hurt the game.

all I want are lotsa and lotsa of weapons to play with....is that too much to ask?
