Mortal Kombat: Armageddon Preview
New this morning from David is this Mortal Kombat: Armageddon preview, offering an overview of the "last" game in the series. Mortal Kombat co-creator Ed Boon was kind enough to share some details about this feature packed fighting game which will feature over sixty fighters from all the previous Mortal Kombat titles.

First and foremost, fans can rest assured, as the tag-line of the next MK is a bit misleading. Boon explains: "Armageddon WILL be the last MK game that will be made ... for this generation [Xbox 1, PS2] of consoles." The focus of the game will be the culmination of most, if not all, existing storylines, something that Mortal Kombat has always focused on, where many fighting games do not. Not only will Armageddon be the last fighter on this generation of hardware, but it will also be the last MK game that incorporates the fighting engine that has been in use since Deadly Alliance. What do future platforms hold in store for the series? Time will tell; Ed Boon, unfortunately, will not!

ever since MK made the jump to 3D I've hated the series. The earlier stuff was just SO much more awesome. The fighters had good details sprites, the combo's and fatalaties still provide much amusement :)
Babalities rocked too. I hope they get the same voices for the announcer again, Flawless victory was just so cool in that deep voice tone.

Where do I sign up?! All of that coupled with the return of the 2D jumping (hope it works out well) and the uppercut to air combo thing... Should be good.
