Am I the only one having "undefined symbol" errors witht eh linux version?

What is funny, is that John Romero was banking on the idea that Daikatana would sell better than Half-Life... and therefore he could afford all of the glam and showbiz.

Also, it would be very interesting to see Valve move completely into a "Mod Cultivator" based company. Basically there biz model would consist of providing easy to use tools, documentation, pre-made textures, models, sounds, etc... all for aiding amateur game developer made mods. Then once a mod reaches a ripe status (or right before), Valve buys the mod and its developers. Then they roll this into their next boxed version of Half-Life.

Mods tend to have a nice "By Gamers For Gamers" feel. Considering that Valve has purchased Team Fortress and Counter-Strike... will they also end up purchasing Day of Defeat?

In order to make more money, all Valve has to do is sell more copies of Half-Life, and once the market gets too saturated... they can sell add-ons like Blue Shift and CS:CZ. All the while they hold onto their large supple fan base.

Can people who have the 1.4 beta installed via steam play on these server file that were just released? Or will we have to wait until tomorrow like everyone else?

I asked this last time.... anyone know if they have "Broken" single player in half life with all these patches?

have they touched single player at all?

I mean it's like the single player never existed, I'm curious to know what happens if you install a fresh copy of H/L - then patch it to the latest and try and play single.. what will happen

the ingame cs browser sucks, and I don't feel like reinstalling gamespy on my new machine. What are the alternatives? are any of them better?

Is it just me, or does Half-life seem to get slower with every new patch? This thing used to run like a champ on my P2-400 when it had just come out, now all I get is crap for framerates.

Excellent job on the mirrors guys, I got around 275k a second on the linux download.

Is there a way to get from the pop-up window to download directly to linux without downloading it to my windows box first?
