holy crap Garden State was fucking terrible. like, i'd kind of forgotten a movie could suck this bad. it tries so hard and it fails so catastrophically. it's like watching people who are tone deaf trying to perform an opera. the more they reach for the high notes, the more pathetic it gets. it's just so damn emotionally vapid. the script is like something you'd be assigned to read in 7th grade that would teach you important life lessons like "happiness and sadness are both part of life."

i don't have time to say more about it right now, but seriously, do not spend your money on this.
