        I was allowed to do anything I wanted. My mom was so adamant about exposing the arts I probably could have gotten away with watching pornography at 8. I remember going to rated R movies at 6 and 7years old. They just held nothing back. I had friends that were restricted from a lot of things like certain entertainment or activities but we were all the same types of kids... it never had any impact one way or another.
        
        I guess some parents don't want to deal with the resulting inquiries from their kids that may come from exposing them to certain things. My parents were fine with that. Well, my mom anyway... my dad did the whole "pretend your dumb so wife does everything" routine. Anyhow, I look at my little nieces now and their parents won't let them see anything violent, or play with toys that have guns or whatever. I even got a lecture for buying my niece Spirited Away because there is some blood in it.
        
        Guess what her favorite movie is?? SPIRITED AWAY. They got so owned.
