I'll break this down into two fundamental choices. One, you have a strong community server like the one coming together on Faeblight that is being spun as the "Old School Server" for old timers who played games like UO,EQ1,AC, etc. There are a *lot* of organized guilds rolling here and the potential here for a strong community is *high*. Additionally, it's been chosen as the "unofficial" Oceanic server as well for those playing from Australia and areas nearby.
This is good because:
1.) It builds a server with a strong community that is likely to be friendly, involved and highly active in the game and its events.
2.) For people can only play at night, it provides an additional player base from the Oceanic region that will be present even if the North American players population dips at those hours.
3.) When (I say when because it will happen with any shack MMO) the guild starts to gradually or quickly lose members, there will be a highly active server population to fall back on.
This is bad because:
1.) There is no doubt there will be queue times for this server. It's going to happen and it's going to make some of you mad when it does.
The other option is that we choose a completely random server with no pre-existing community and hope for the best.
This is good because:
1.) Queue times would probably be minimized in comparison to the other server.
This is bad because:
1.) There's no way of knowing what kind of server community you'll get or how healthy it will be.
So I'm putting it up for a vote. The poll will stay open until the 13th.
