The visual style is great, and there's some interesting themes in the music along with the generic-orchestral stuff that seems to infest Japanese games. I was pretty psyched with the intro, it almost had a melancholy nostalgic Band of Brothers thing going. But that's not really what it turned out to be like. :-)
I'm conflicted about the game overall. The story is actually pretty good, but the delivery and dialog are a bit too kiddie-anime. (And the cutscene to gameplay ratio is high.) Not that it's badly done, just something I would have appreciated a lot more many years ago. :-) The teenage infantry girlies in miniskirts and thigh-highs are also kinda whut?
It's good times though, I'm certainly going to finish it out. I got my PS3 long after this was released, but I picked up a cheap copy a while back & I'm glad I did.
