Enjoy it while it lasts you spoiled little brats. As the number of users, services, and overall complexity of systems like Live and PSN increase so to will the costs, and the companies that run them (big as they are) will not be able to offer them for free. $30-$50 per year is a pittance to maintain the networks you rely on.
PC gamers who congregated around specific servers know this too well. It can easily cost a couple hundred a month to run a high player count CSS or BF2 server, but as long as a fraction of the regulars had the decency to chip in $2-$5 here and there, we could all share the load. Eat shit and die, leeches.
