  • Sounds good that they've got a ton of talented people working on some new levels. D'you think they've perhaps sourced them from seeing users' published levels? And then just contracted them in some way to privately make levels for inclusion in the new edition? "Media Molecule has also tasked '18 extraordinary people' with creating custom levels for the GOTY" certainly makes it sound that way, but maybe that's just the wording. I dunno, were there any more details, Alice? But that'd be really cool if they were actually employing good level designers from outside of the studio.

Anyway, I won't be buying this. As extraordinary as it was, I stopped playing LitteBigPlanet for anything more than short bursts a long time ago. The way MM said once about how they planned to release lots of, to paraphrase, "radical, game-changing content" got me excited. Playing the MGS pack, and the simple way the Paintinator and its new mechanics introduced this whole other layer to the gameplay was brilliant. What had previously been a simple platformer was suddenly more of a shooter for the addition of only a few new items. But if they'd actually followed through on that and continued to release that kind of content that can change the way you think about the game then I'd probably still be playing it. Even the best and most innovative of the levels start to feel underwhelming after a time when all you're doing is running, jumping, bouncing, swinging... and then... paintballing your way through them.

If they stop making so many sticker and outfit packs and create some new content that is anything more than cosmetic then maybe I'll actually start playing it again I guess is the TL;DR.
