Who is buying Skate 2?!?

None of these things really effect the way the game feels to me and I find myself failing tricks as much as I ever did in the original. The basic gameplay is still about momentum and physics, and in some areas this has been vastly improved. Grinds on ledges and rails come with way more friction between the object and your board and slow you down much more realistically than they did skate 1. It's insane how much better it is now. You don't float as long and can't spin as fast as you could in skate 1 on flatland tricks which is also a change for the better. You come down with more weight on rails in so you actually grind them, even the short ones, instead of airing over them. That alone makes the game "feel" a lot better to me. I can't count the number of times I tried to pop a little handrail while moving as slow as I could, or even a big one I suppose with 2 pushes, only to air the whole thing and nick the very end of it. That's basically gone in skate 2, and if you know how to control your speed and ollie height, the tricks you can do look more realistic than they ever did in skate 1.
New mechanics feel about the same as the original ones did to me. They original ones weren't perfect and neither are the new ones, but everything still works fairly well together. I was shocked out how natural doing one footed grabs like benihana's were.
