Inspired by both the existing comic and the upcoming movie of the same name, Kick-Ass--the latest downloadable effort from Wisconsin-based Metalocalypse: Dethgame and Zombie Wranglers developer Frozen Codebase--is saddling an odd line.

On top of paying homage to both sources--"we go towards the movie story, but a lot of the artwork goes toward the comic book," studio president Ben Geisler tells us--the game, an action-RPG, is being made under a "pretty darn expedited" schedule, one that only started in September. Read more »

Downloadable retro revival Arkanoid Live will debut on the Xbox Live Arcade this Wednesday, joining known releases Zombie Wranglers and Space Invaders Extreme, according to Xbox Live programming director Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb.

Frozen Codebase has announced that its "perennially star-crossed" downloadable action game Zombie Wranglers will hit the Xbox 360 on May 6, Destructoid noticed.

The latest from the Screwjumper! and Elements of Destruction developer was initially slated to be released last fall, but suffered a delay after publisher Sierra merged with Activision and decided it would no longer publish many of its upcoming titles. Read more »
