Sega announced on its official blog today that new copies of Yakuza 4 will include a downloadable content code to grab day-one goodies. The extras include bonus costumes, a Survival Mode, underground car park racing, and the underground Fighting Arena.

Sega announced today in a press release that Yakuza fans don't have to wait much longer to step into the Japanese crime world. A demo of Yakuza 4 is due for PlayStation Plus subscribers on February 15. The unwashed masses can expect it a week later on February 22.
The demo lets players try out all four playable characters to get a feel for their fighting styles. The open-world crime drama series shows the seedier side of the fictional Kamurocho district in Tokyo. The PlayStation 3 exclusive is scheduled to hit retail shelves on March 15.

Yakuza 4 came out in Japan back in March of this year, but SEGA has just announced that the game is finally headed to North American and European PlayStation 3's in spring of 2011.
Yakuza 4 returns players to Kamurocho, the fictionalized city based on Tokyo Shinjuku's real-life red-light district, Kabukicho. Series regular, Kazuma Kiryu, will be joined by three other playable protagonists in his latest outing, alongside familiar faces from past games in the series. Yakuza 4 will allow players to control multiple characters throughout the story, each with different abilities. Read more »

As tends to be the case, SEGA America has followed SEGA Japan's revelation of a new Yakuza game by announcing that the previous entry is coming to the West.
In this case, Yakuza 4 is coming to North America in "Spring 2011," while Japan gets the newest entry, Black Leopard: New Yakuza Chapter (PSP) on September 22, 2010. Read more »

The third installment of developer Amusement Vision's Yakuza series isn't due out in North America until March of this year. That doesn't mean it's too early to check out the Japanese trailer for Yakuza 4 already rapidly approaching a similar March release date in Japan.
Yakuza 4 hasn't been announced for release outside of Japan yet, but if the latest entries in the series are any indication, the PS3-exclusive Japanese crime-world sandbox adventure has a decent chance of making it to North America...eventually. It just might take a year or so. Read more »
