Shacknews Daily: Apr 02, 2012 - SOCOM 4 dev closed, new releases

Despite the legendary stature of the SOCOM franchise, Sony pulled the plug on series developer Zipper Interactive after a string of three successive releases that came up short of their hype. MAG, SOCOM 4, and Unit 13, one of a handful of strong titles for the new Vita system, all failed to find the winning formula the developer had down so well with SOCOM 2. Team Meat announced plans to bring Super Meat Boy to iOS and android, but as a proper new game and not a port. And Diabolical Pitch and Xenoblade Chronicles headline this week's new releases.

Most Anticipated of 2012: Garnett's Picks

There's a lot to be excited for in 2012, and the Shacknews staff each have five games on their radar. The editorial team at Shacknews outlines their most anticipated games of 2012 individually. Next up we've got editorial director Garnett Lee and his list of top 2012 titles.

It just happens to do them with a friendly interface that takes advantage of the Vita to make it incredibly easy to quickly put together rhythm, percussion, and melody.

Xenoblade Chronicles coming to Wii in April

Fans have been clamoring for the release of a number of high-profile RPGs for Wii.
