One of THQ's biggest properties was notably absent from today's auction. Rights to the WWE franchise have been sold outside of the formal auction process, according to a new report by IGN. According to the site's sources, the WWE game franchise will be moving to Take-Two Interactive, parent company of 2K Sports.

For you RAW and SmackDown wrestling aficionados holding out hope that WWE '13 would make its way to Wii U, PC, or handhelds, don't hold your breath. THQ's creative director for the series has confirmed the game is strictly for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii.

The commentary in WWE wrestling matches has always been fun to listen to. Whether you have Jerry Lawler verbally sparring with Michael Cole or JR Ross commenting in his Oklahoma drawl, the back-and-forth has always been as entertaining as what was going on in the ring. Now, WWE '13 is attempting to bring that commentary to the new game.

Stone Cold Steve Austin was always the epitome of the Attitude Era of WWE wrestling. His bald-headed machismo, along with his iconic utterance of "Austin 3:16," is now the focal point of the collector's edition for THQ's upcoming WWE '13, and the game's return to the era that the Texas Rattlesnake helped make famous.

With WWE '13 returning to the raucous and rowdy 'Attitude Era' of wrestling, who better to bring in as a pre-order bonus than boxer and noted ear gobbler Mike Tyson? Of course, the official story is that he's there from his brief stint with D-Generation X.

It is always entertaining to see pompous WWE exec John Laurinaitis get upstaged. On Monday, he faked the cover of the upcoming WWE '13 with his mug on it, only to have CM Punk come out and reveal that he was actually the new cover wrestler for the next installment of THQ's perennial wrestling title.
