World of Warcraft's $60 insta-90 price meant to maintain value of leveling, says Blizzard

Blizzard previously commented that it was considering selling the instant boost to level 90 that will otherwise be included in WoW's Warlords of Draenor expansion. But that price point has been set surprisingly high, at a whopping $60. Lead encounter designer Ion Hazzikostas says that price is set to assure that there is still some value in leveling the old-fashioned way.

Skirmish PvP returning to World of Warcraft

The upcoming Warlords of Draenor expansion for World of Warcraft had aspirations of making some new additions to the PvP experience. However, Blizzard has revealed that the original plan of a new Trial of the Gladiator mode is being shelved in favor of restoring the game's Skirmish mode and implementing a new Spectator Invite system for tournaments.

World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor announced, allows for instant level 90 upgrade

Yet another World of Warcraft expansion has been revealed. Warlords of Draenor "sends players to the savage world of Draenor, home of the mighty orcs and haven of the mystic draenei, to fight against and alongside legends from Warcraft's brutal past."

Perhaps one of the most noteworthy features of the new expansion is the ability to instantly upgrade one character to level 90, making it so that anyone can join Draenor without feeling like a n00b. The expansion also lifts the level cap up to 100, giving players new reason to harvest XP.

World of Warcraft adds Cataclysm to basic edition

Feeling a need to buy oodles of expansions can be off-putting when you're looking into starting an MMORPG, so Blizzard has regularly upgraded World of Warcraft's basic 'Battle Chest' edition with old expansions. It's now rolled 2010's Cataclysm into the package, and is taking the extra step of giving all expansions except Mists of Pandaria to every player, no matter when they bought WoW.
