Midway has delayed the release of its open-world Vin Diesel-starring driving-action game Wheelman (PC, PS3, 360) until the first quarter of 2009, reports Kotaku.

The oft-postponed game, once due in 2007 and then expected sometime this year, was apparently pushed to provide Midway Studios Newcastle more development time, and hopefully, result in a better product.

Midway has released the E3 2008 trailer for Wheelman (PS3, X360), offering a cinematic look at the open world action racer in development at Midway Newcastle, with help from Vin Diesel's Tigon Studios.
