Electronic Arts has laid off members of the development team responsible for Steven Spielberg's block-knocker series Boom Blox, though it appears that the team's last project--a Project Natal title--may live on at Harry Potter developer EA Bright Light.
"The Boom Blox team was laid off today," now-former Electronic Arts Los Angeles senior software engineer Jeff Dixon wrote on LinkedIn, as noted by Blue's News. When reached for details, Dixon told the site that a total of fourteen employees had been cut. Read more »

Following up on word that Boom Blox Bash Party was due sometime in May, publisher Electronic Arts today nailed down a specific release date for the Wii sequel: May 19.
The EA Casual-helmed sequel to last year's block-busting fan-favorite Wii title Boom Blox, Bash Party adds new levels and modes, along with a central location for owners to share and download custom levels from other community members and EA itself. Read more »

Firming up that ever-vague "spring" timeframe, Electronic Arts has narrowed the release window of Boom Blox Bash Party down to the month of May. New screenshots of the Wii sequel accompanied that revelation, showing off all sorts of wacky block-busting hijinks.

Following this morning's revelation of Boom Blox Bash Party, publisher Electronic Arts has issued the first two screenshots from the EA Casual Studios-developed sequel.
Expanding upon the original block-busting physics-based Wii puzzler, Bash Party will pack new levels, new multiplayer modes, and the ability to download and share user-created levels when it hits Wii later this spring.

Electronic Arts today announced Boom Blox Bash Party, a sequel to the Steven Spielberg-produced, Jenga-esque Wii party game.
According to a release, the Bash Party will feature new multiplayer modes and over 400 fresh levels. The game will also allow players to download both EA and user-created levels. Read more »
