Bionic Commando Release Dated for Consoles

GRIN's Bionic Commando will be swinging its way to the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on May 19, publisher Capcom announced today.

This 3D update to the popular 8-bit 2D platformer--itself recently remade as the downloadable Bionic Commando Rearmed for the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3--features swinging through vast open levels on your bionic arm's grappling hook and punching dudes with said bionic arm. Bionic Commando Swings Into May

GRIN's new Bionic Commando game will be released for PS3 and Xbox 360 this May, publisher Capcom has announced. The game was previously expected in March.As we noted before, the PC version will trail the console release with today's announcement saying it will be available "in the following months."

Bionic Commando PC Coming After Console Release

The PC edition of GRIN's Bionic Commando will "shortly" follow the release of the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions, according to publisher Capcom.

"[Bionic Commando] will be initially available for gamers on Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and Sony Computer Entertainment's PLAYSTATION 3 with the PC version following shortly afterwards," noted Capcom. Read more »

A few new screenshots of GRIN's swinging action-adventure game Bionic Commando (PC, PS3, 360) have arrived from publisher Capcom, highlighting the polycraft enemy.

In continued celebration of this year's Tokyo Game Show, Capcom has released a trailer from GRIN's Bionic Commando, the modern, 3D retake on the classic action franchise that just got revived with GRIN's own Bionic Commando Rearmed.

As part of today's smorgasbord of new media, Capcom released new screenshots and a trailer from its upcoming Bionic Commando revamp, showcasing the game's multiplayer element.

Developed by GRIN, no specific release date for Bionic Commando has yet been announced, but recently released financial reports from Capcom state that the game is expected within its current fiscal year ending March 31, 2009. Nintendo Blocking Bionic Commando VC Release

Representatives from Capcom have revealed that the swinging NES shooter Bionic Commando will not be released through the Wii's online Virtual Console service, owing the exclusion to unspecified problems with Nintendo.
