THQ's exclusive license to publish video games based upon Games Workshop's grim tabletop wargame has received a multi-year extension, the two companies announced today.
THQ is the publisher behind Relic Entertainment's lovely 40k RTS series Dawn of War, which has shipped--not sold--6.5 million units to date. The most recent DoW title was Dawn of War II - Retribution - The Last Standalone, a $10 downloadable spin-off of the co-op survival mode from Dawn of War II - Retribution. Read more »

[Update: 12:41pm] Steam has updated the sale again, replacing Crysis with the Crysis: Maximum Edition for $19.99. Crysis remains $14.99 alone. Earlier, Day of Defeat was swapped with Day of Defeat: Source; however, Day of Defeat remains 75% off.

Japanese developer and publisher Capcom intends to stop commissioning original games from foreign developers as part of the response to its recent revelation that profits dropped 73% over the last year, 1up spotted the Financial Times reporting.
"As a group, the new titles where development was led from abroad didn't do so well," Capcom president Haruhiro Tsujimoto told the newspaper. Capcom's annual financial report blamed the poor sales performance of foreign projects Bionic Commando and Dark Void in part for the past year's profits plummet, among other factors. Read more »

Swedish developer GRIN, most notably responsible for the recent Bionic Commando games, could be on its way to closing altogether according to a new Gamasutra report.
The company has already closed its studios in Barcelona and Gothenburg, and un-smiling employees have recently been told not to show up to work at its Stockholm headquarters. Read more »

Bionic Commando and Rearmed are available for $40 and $10 respectively, or for $45 as a convenient bundle.

As Street Fighter IV PC rolls out to retailers worldwide, publisher Capcom has provided release dates for the belated PC edition of GRIN's action game Bionic Commando.
Specifically, Bionic Commando PC hits Europe on July 17, with the North American release following on July 28. PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 editions hit earlier this year. Read more »

Surprising no one, developer Capcom today confirmed that the oft-rumored PC version of Resident Evil 5 will arrive "later in the year," with the PC editions of Street Fighter IV and Bionic Commando due in July. All three will be sold via retail and digital distribution.
"All three games will be optimized for the PC platform and will have new PC-specific features added to the already great games," wrote Capcom. Both Resident Evil 5 and Street Fighter IV hit PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 earlier this year, with the console edition of GRIN's swinging action game Bionic Commando slated to hit on May 19. Continuing today's Capcom craziness, the publisher has announced that the Xbox 360-only Bionic Commando multiplayer demo will arrive on Wednesday, April 29.
The demo packs one map, which supports deathmatch play for up to eight gamers. Capcom previously told Shacknews that it had "no plans" to release the demo on PC and PlayStation 3, and likewise had no plans for a single-player demo at the time. Read more »

Update: Capcom has confirmed that the Bionic Commando multiplayer demo is an Xbox 360 exclusive, telling Shacknews that it has "no plans for a PC or PS3 demo." When asked why, a representative from Capcom told us they had "no comment."
Additionally, the rep noted that there are no plans for a single-player demo "at this time."

A new trailer for GRIN's Bionic Commando has emerged from publisher Capcom, detailing the capabilities of the bionic arm grafted onto protagonist Nathan Spencer .
The action game hits PS3 and Xbox 360 on May 19, with a PC release "shortly after."
