A 60mb Red Orchestra update has been updated, updating the UT2004 WW2 mod to version 2.1. The patch fixes several bugs and adds a new overhead map feature among other things.

Several new Unreal Tournament 2004 mods have been released or updated, in time for the next Phase of the Make Something Unreal Contest. On FileShack we have mirrors of Atlantis: Fight for Earth, NeoTokyo, Slave Master and Jungle Warfare. If any teams want their mod mirrored be sure to submit it. A v1.1 patch for the popular Alien Swarm mod for UT2004 has been released. The update makes the Easy difficulty setting a little easier, adds some marine skin colors and a revive marines option, and fixes several bugs among other things.

Beta 4 of the DeathBall 2.0 modification for UT2004 has been released, and you can grab it from FileShack. DeathBall turns UT2004 into a mix of Football/Soccer, Rugby, Handball and War.

Yet another version of the CarBall mod for Unreal Tournament 2004 has been released. You can grab v1.5, which fixes some bugs, from FileShack.

The Unnatural Gaming guys have released version 0.8 of their Checkmate mod, now for Unreal Tournament 2004. Checkmate is a team deathmatch mod for UT2004 which incorporates elements of Chess. More info can be found here.

The CarBall website has been updated, as version 1.4 of this UT2004 mod has been released. You can find a mirror of the new release, which fixes some bugs and tweaks some of the maps, on FileShack.

The second Unreal Tournament 2004 community bonus pack has been released, adding another 20 new maps, 4 new characters and 2 mutators. We have the 191mb download mirrored on FileShack.

The first version of Alien Swarm for Unreal Tournament 2004 has been released. The mod is an overhead view tactical squad-based shooter, and co-op play is supported. You can find a mirror of the UMOD install version on FileShack.

Version 1.3 of the CarBall mod for UT2004 has been released, fixing a few issues and also adding some new effects. You can find a mirror on FileShack. In CarBall you drive around in a buggy, trying to score points by pushing a ball in the other team's goal.

We received an email from the guys at Vision Studios saying they are looking for level designers and character modelers to help work on Strike Force, which is possibly going to go from mod to retail game. In other news the company announced that Tobbe Ahlen has joined the team. Tobbe previously worked on Tac Ops and Devastation. You can find some screenshots from a map of his here.

The Unreal Tournament website's download page is now offering a Make Something Unreal Contest E3 2004 video (at the bottom of the page), showing a minute of footage from various mods competing in the contest.

The guys at Epic Games let us know that they have released Impersonator tools and samples for Unreal Tournament 2004 mod authors who want to create realistic and emotive talking characters. Epic licensed technology from OC3 Entertainment to add these features to the game.

Version 2.0 of the Red Orchestra WW2 mod for Unreal Tournament 2004 has been released, and you can grab it from FileShack. More info about the 410mb new release can be found in the manual.

Some things you just don't expect. One of them is a golf mod for Unreal Tournament. That didn't stop the guys at Coil to make this multiplayer mod for UT2004. A beta (single player only) has been released at the Duffers Golf website.
