Epic has released a new Unreal Tournament 2004 bonus pack, adding the Editor's Choice Edition content to owners of the original retail game. The bonus pack adds six new characters, three new vehicles (the Paladin, the Cicada, and the SPMA), and four new Onslaught maps to UT2004. Your game must be patched to 3323. Epic sends along this about making your entry to the Make Something Unreal Contest eligible for the Educational category: "To be eligible for consideration students or faculty members will be asked to provide the name of their educational institution and the contact information for the school. Schools must verify that they will accept the computers and provide them for student use. For consideration in this category, the mods do not have to be school projects, but the students or faculty must be presently enrolled or employed by the institution". Vision Studios has released Strike Force for Unreal Tournament 2004, allowing you to try two maps from this military action game in TeamDM mode. Additional maps, weapons, etc will be released through patches in the coming weeks, but Vision Studios is holding back on most content for now, hoping to a land a contract with a publisher.

The guys at Epic send along the fourth Unreal Tournament 2004 patch, updating the game to version 3323. The new update offers various Onslaught gamemode related fixes, as well as updates to networking and general gameplay (check the entire change list here). As with previous updates, this patch is compatible with any older versions of the game.

Epic Games sends along the third Unreal Tournament 2004 patch, updating the game to v3270. The update offers changes/fixes related to the Onslaught gamemode, general gameplay, networking, engine and mods among other things. As before this patch is compatible with the retail version and previous patches. Here are some of the network changes
- Fixed "weapon not firing" bug, caused by reliable bunches from client getting queued up on server under certain packet loss conditions. - Improved low net bandwith (modem) client net performance: [...] - Made super shock beams not bNetTemporary (so you always see your shots even w/ packet loss) - Improved server performance by removing some expensive (and never tripped) checks - Fixed network jitter at low game speeds (gamespeed mutator) - Speed hack checks enabled when flying redeemer - Colored names exploit fixed again - Fixed Web Response exploit - Fixed server crash exploit

Atari and Epic Games Announce Unreal Tournament 2004 - Editor's Choice Edition to Be Available This Fall is a new press release, announcing a new version of Unreal Tournament 2004 with additional content. It will retail later this year for $39.99. Here's what will be added vehicle wise
Three new vehicles are being added for Onslaught mode to help gamers tear up the countryside and bring their enemies to their knees. New battle machinery includes the Cicada, a two seat air vehicle; the Paladin, a deadly new tank that includes a player-oriented directional shield; and the Self Propelled Mobile Artillery (SPMA), a long-range artillery vehicle with a deployable hovering spotter camera.
HomeLAN Fed reports that all the new content will be released for free for current UT2004 owners.

Epic sends along an updated Unreal Tournament 2004 patch, updating the game to version 3236. A Linux server/client patch has been released as well (amd64 and x86). The patch offers quite a few changes related to the Onslaught game mode, menus, networking, the editor and other areas of the game - you can find the full list of changes here.
Some Networking Related Fixes: - Fixed speedhack detection false positives - Fixed client-side game time getting screwed up - Improved jumping/dodging/etc. not getting lost when there's significant packet loss - Fixed Cheat protect to view most voicepacks as ok - Fixed *hopefully* the ServerBrowser locking packages and tripping cheat protection. - Make sure that mutators are properly reported to master server - Onslaught server performance improvements - Fixed "flying player" exploit. ...
