If you're a PlayStation Plus member -- and if you own a PlayStation system, you really should be -- you've probably figured out that buying games is now for suckers. Uncharted movie getting rewrite, new director
Rumor: Uncharted: Golden Abyss getting multiplayer CCG
Uncharted: Golden Abyss is the first game in the series to release without multiplayer since the original, but possibly not for long. A purported screenshot from a glitch shows that you might be able to battle against your friends, though not in the way you'd expect. The image seems to indicate a collectible card game (CCG) style mode.
Rumor: PlayStation Vita launch game prices
A purported leak from GameStop has given some prices for the PlayStation Vita launch line-up. For the most part, the numbers seem on-par with the games of its chief competition, the Nintendo 3DS. The one exception is Uncharted: Golden Abyss, which is nearly priced the same as a console release.
Vita games 'too large' to be download-only, 4GB quoted
If the PlayStation Vita is from the future, why does it still use game cartridges? Well, Sony's Shuhei Yoshida says it's a matter of practicality. "We believe the time is still not right to go download-only as a platform," Yoshida said. "Some PS Vita titles, like Uncharted: Golden Abyss, will be close to 4GB in size, which could be too large to download for consumers who do not have a fast broadband connection."
Uncharted: Golden Abyss video showcases Vita graphics, controls
One of the marquee titles for Sony's upcoming Vita handheld is Uncharted: Golden Abyss. Developer Bend Studios has decided to take the Uncharted franchise to new territory for its first portable outing, taking advantage of the handheld's many control inputs. For example, Drake now carries a machete which can cut away obstacles by swiping on the touch screen. Gimmicky? Or clever? You can watch the video to decide for yourself.
