One of the primary designers of the Uncharted series is leaving Naughty Dog to pursue a professorship at the University of Southern California. Richard Lemarchand was co-lead designer on Uncharted 3, but soon he'll be teaching at the Interactive Media Division, and working on experimental games for a research project.

Inspired by Indiana Jones, the Uncharted series is one of the most cinematic productions in gaming right now. Instead of waiting for the live action Hollywood adaptation of the franchise, morphinapg on YouTube decided to take matters into his own hands: edit footage of all three games in the series into three feature-length films.

To do so, morphinapg not only grabbed every cinematic from the games, he also added the "minimum amount of gameplay" necessary to make sure the story would still make sense to someone that's never played the game.

There's only two months left until Uncharted 3 releases... which should give you plenty of time to play the first two games all over again. If you've yet to jump on the Uncharted bandwagon, Sony is releasing a new Greatest Hits bundle that should be tempting for newcomers.

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune and Uncharted 2: Among Thieves are being bundled together for the Uncharted Double Pack, and will be available on September 6th for $39.99.

Fans were up in arms when they heard about David O. Russell's Uncharted film adaptation about a family "that deals with heads of state and heads of museums and metes out justice." Just like in the games! Right?

Since then, Russell has left the project, with Neil Burger taking over the Hollywood adaptation of Naughty Dog's adventure series. Thankfully, Burger won't follow the footsteps of his predecessor and will, instead, focus on what actually makes the series so beloved by its fans. "There’s a lot of cool stuff, actually, from the videogame, if you know it."

It would appear that Nathan Drake is going to go through a spat of déjà vu before his next adventure unwinds. According to CVG, an Uncharted Collection will launch on the PlayStation 3 next month.

The Uncharted set is scheduled to arrive alongside the previously confirmed Resistance Collection. The Uncharted bundle had briefly appeared on Best Buy's website; however, it has since been removed. The game was reportedly priced for $39.99 and set to launch on July 22. Read more »

Addressing complaints that latest PlayStation 3 firmware update (v3.00) caused some to experience freezing issues while playing Naughty Dog's Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, Sony has released an optional firmware update (v3.01) meant to alleviate the problem.

"This will fix the issues that some users have experienced with Uncharted: Drake's Fortune," Sony's Eric Lempel wrote on the PlayStation.Blog. The anticipated sequel to the PlayStation 3 exclusive recently went gold and is due in North America October 13.

A new patch for Naughty Dog's third-person action-adventure title Uncharted: Drake's Fortune (PS3) has arrived, delivering support for the PlayStation 3's Achievement-like trophy system.

The 13MB patch will download automatically, with a prompt appearing upon starting up the title. Naughty Dog marketing manager Arne Meyer revealed that implementing trophies proved simple with the game's already built-in medal reward system. Read more »
