Following its delay a single week before its intended release date, NBA Elite 11 has now been officially canceled according to publisher and developer Electronic Arts (via Kotaku)
Last week, EA initiated seasonal layoffs and Shacknews was told by a trusted source that one of the groups hit was the NBA Elite 11 development team. Statements made today reveal that the NBA Elite franchise will shift to EA Tiburon, responsible for yearly releases of Madden NFL, NCAA Football, and Tiger Woods PGA Tour. Read more »

THQ has announced that it has extended its "exclusive, worldwide" videogame licensing agreement to the Ultimate Fighting Championship property through the year 2018.
"We're very excited to extend our relationship with Zuffa and the Ultimate Fighting Championship," said Danny Bilson, executive vice president, THQ. [Update 5:40 - BL] Quickly confirming the report, EA Sports president Peter Moore has detailed the delay of NBA Elite 11 on his official blog. While no time period is given for NBA Elite 11, Moore details new content coming to NBA Live 10 free of charge, including a roster update for the 2010-2011 NBA season. "We are going to keep working until we're certain we can deliver a breakthrough basketball experience," says Moore.
NBA Jam, which was originally to be included with NBA Elite on the Xbox 360 and PS3, will get standalone releases on the two consoles "in time for the holidays". The October 5 release of the Wii version is unchanged. Read more »

THQ has released details of an upcoming patch for the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of UFC Undisputed 2010, which is to be submitted to Sony and Microsoft for certification shortly. Due to the uncertainty in length of said certification process, gamers can expect the patch in the coming weeks.
Virtual mixed martial artists can expect the following changes to the game. "CAF" refers to the game's "Create a Fighter" feature. Read more »

New copies of Electronic Arts' NBA Live Elite 11 will include a "one-time download code that will enable users to access three modes of NBA JAM - Play Now, Classic Campaign and Online."
This will be a separate game executable that will not be launched through NBA Elite 11, which would explain the ESRB ratings that popped up last week. A more fully-featured version of NBA Jam will be released on the Wii. Read more »

Mega-publisher Electronic Arts has issued a breakdown of the games it will display next week at E3 2010, offering new release dates and windows for a few titles in the process.
RISK: Factions, the downloadable Xbox 360-exclusive revamp of the classic board game, will arrive on June 23, 2010.

Though NBA ELITE 11 feature "a new control scheme" centered around the right analog stick to give "fans the control on the court that they have been begging for in a basketball game for years," maker EA SPORTS has confirmed that the new scheme is optional.
