The Humble Frozenbyte Bundle has closed, bringing in a grand total of $909,918.39. Windows users made up about 2/3 of the purchases, with Mac and Linux splitting the remainder almost evenly. But as per usual, Windows users paid the lowest average price ($3.91). Mac users paid more ($6.42), and Linux users blew them both out of the water ($11.82). The average price across all platforms was $4.97, and the highest contribution came from an anonymous donor, for $2,222.22. Read more »

The Humble Frozenbyte Bundle has reached over $700,000, and as a result Frozenbyte has released a set of Milestone updates (via Joystiq). Among them is a sneak preview of Splot, a game still currently under development. The developers say its still missing some combo features, "but it should give a pretty good perception of what the game is going to be like." Read more »

Although developer Frozenbyte has decided to skip an Xbox 360 version of its original hit title Trine--deciding instead to focus attention on the game's sequel for the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360, the original game will see new life on Mac next month.
Announced today, Trine will be available on Steam in November and will feature SteamPlay--giving users both the PC and Mac versions of the game with a single purchase. The developer says that the Mac version of the game will be brought to "other digital distributors" in the future and, "If everything goes well, there's a good chance that Trine 2 will also makes its way to the Mac next year." The next game out of Trine and Shadowgrounds developer Frozenbyte--"an as-of-yet unannounced 2011 digital distribution title"--will be published by Atlus, the pair revealed today, vowing that they will reveal more during E3 2010 next week.

Those that didn't buy Trine PC via digital distributors like Steam or Impulse can now enjoy the free additional "Path to New Dawn" level added to the side-scroller last month, as a manual download of the 26.76MB v1.07 patch is now available via FileShack.
The downloadable is compatible with the Direct2Drive, GamersGate, North American retail and European retail editions of Trine. Steam and Impulse copies should have already been updated automatically via their respective digital distribution platforms, while those with Russian and Polish versions will need to wait for a separate patch. After removing copy protection with the v1.06 update to Trine PC, developer Frozenbyte has added a new level to the fantastical platformer with its v1.07 update and once again lowered the game's price by 75%--making it just $5--on Steam through April 26.
"Thanks for playing and supporting Trine," reads the patch notes, which specify that the new level--Path to New Dawn--is "available upon completion of the game." Read more »

Trine developer Frozenbyte has released patch 1.06 for its delightful physics-driven action platformer on PC, available now in a 14MB download from FileShack.
The removal of copy protection from North American and European editions of Trine is chief among the patch's changes, which also include oodles of bug fixes.

After months of delays, the recent PlayStation Network update has finally pushed Frozenbyte's fantasy puzzle/platformer Trine from the PC to the PlayStation 3.
The downloadable game is selling for $20 on the Network, on par with the PC version's current price. And for those on the fence, there's always the PC demo to try out.
