Vivendi Universal Games has released a third Tribes: Vengeance demo, which is the second single-player demo. In this new 415mb download you take on the role of Mercury, "a robot assassin hired to locate and eliminate Daniel, a captain of the local Phoenix subclan".

According to this post on the Tribal War forums, a 1.2 update for Tribes: Vengeance is under development and scheduled for release in December. It will fix various game bugs including map "holes", and will add PunkBuster Online Countermeasures.

Vivendi Univeral Games sent along a brief statement, announcing that Tribes: Vengeance has gone gold. The game will ship to stores October 5, with a multiplayer demo expected to be released before then. A singleplayer demo is already available.

The lates Tribes: Vengeance preview can be found at Gaming Groove, where they have taken the beta build of the game for a spin. The Unreal engine powered action game sequel is expected to be out in stores in October.

There's a post by Vivendi's Adam Kahn on the Tribal War forums, where he mentions a single-player demo for Tribes: Vengeance will be released some time in September following the multiplayer beta test. The game itself is almost done as well, and they expect to ship early October.

Tribes:Vengeance Moving Towards Gold is the title of an update on the Irrational Games website, mentioning the team is in the final stages of development - "Most of the artists have finished and the features are all in place. The programmers are working their butts off to fix bugs and the designers are ensuring that they wring every last gram of fun (hey, we are on the metric system out in Australia) out of the levels". There will be an open beta of the game soon. Thanks Blues.
