Yesterday Tribal War posted about the changes in the Thursday Tribes2 patch but they already have info on next week's patch too. This patch will feature a number of videocard improvements besides other fixes. Some of those videocard changes will be trying to improve framerate with the Voodoo 3 and 5 as well as stop the Radeon VE from crashing in Windows 98.

TribalWar has copied the FAQ section from the monthly Tribes2 newsletter, which has news on a Tribes2 expansion pack that's already in the works. This was previously only hinted at.
Q: Are you guys working on an Expansion Pack for Tribes 2 or starting Tribes 3? A: We have already begun design work on an expansion pack for T2. Exactly what will be in the expansion pack is still in flux but we'll certainly include a new vehicle, new maps and missions, and basically broaden the depth of T2.
The FAQ also mentions a demo of the game is coming soon.

Word has gotten out from Sierra that TRIBES2 is in serious talks for making its way to the Playstation2 console machine. Sony is expected to be announcing a lot of their online plans for the console at the upcoming E3 event next month. TRIBES2 of course focuses on multiplayer so we may get a glimpse of things at the show next month. The release date for TRIBES2 on the PS2 is being listed online for October of this year although the deal hasnt been inked yet so it must be close to being a done deal if Sony is already giving estimated release dates to distributors. Honestly though I'm still having a hard time imagining playing a FPS deathmatch game on a console without good controls. Playing single player titles where you can move at your own pace like Goldeneye is one thing, but deathmatch online? Hmm... Anyone ever played Quake3 online with a Dreamcast? When using the keyboard and mouse for the DC is was pretty cool but will Sony be expecting everyone picking up TRIBES2 for their system to be getting a new controller to boot?

As expected, Sierra has released a new patch (upgrade, full) for Tribes2 fixing just a lot of stuff that you'll want fixed. You can see the list at Tribalwar, here are a few of them. Also remember you need the CD in your drive to play now.
* Fixed a problem that could have caused texture leaking in the interiors * Fixed an AI problem in Training 2 * A bug where infinite ammo could be gained by tossing the ammo was prevented. * Thundersword and Havoc hold steady now when players try to jump in so they don't invert and detonate. * Fixed two issues that *could* cause crashes. * Fixed a problem where the bombardier could create a permanent targeting laser
