TribalWar has posted a single new screenshot from Tribes: Vengeance, the Unreal engine powered Tribes sequel. The shot comes from an August 8 build of the game when it was apparently 43% done.

The guys at TribalWar sent over an email, announcing they'll be hosting a Tribes Vengeance developer chat on IRC soon. Day and date - May 11 at 8PM CST, and the chat will be in the #tribalwar channel on irc.dynamix.com. Several designers and producers from Irrational Games and VU Gamers will attend the chat.

According to this post on TribalWar.com, Sierra will be announcing the next Tribes game on April 24 at a Vivendi press event in Los Angeles. That's about it, I hope it makes you Tribes fans happy!

There's a new thread on the Tribes3.org forums, where questions are being answered about the next game in the Tribes franchise by the Sierra producer. Expect quite a few no comment replies though.

According to this poem on the TribalWar forums by Sierra's Alex Rodberg, a new Tribes game has been greenlit which should make fans of the Tribe series pretty hapy. In another post mentioned on the TribalWar frontpage, we should see more info some time next year. Thanks Blues News.
Looking forward, we must rely on our (and your) ability to discern what was fun and what wasn't about all the Tribes games (and even other games) and end up with a finished product that is both new and familiar at the same time. I'm confident in the team we have assembled for this daunting task. I can't wait to introduce you to them so we can get fans involved in the process as early as possible. When? When we make the official announcement, sometime next year.

The Tribalwar forums have a post by Sierra's Alex Rodberg, who mentions new Tribes 2 bugs were found after the re-release patch was released last week. The new retail CD will be delayed until November 27th, and a new patch will be released as soon as possible.

In anticipiation of the upcoming Tribes 2 re-release on October 4, Sierra has released a new update for current Tribes 2 owners to upgrade their game. Many changes have been made to the game, and some user created mods have been added as well. Thanks Blues News.

HomeLAN has heard from Sierra the the TRIBES2 re-launch is scheduled for some time this week. There will be two new mods packaged with the launch and will be sold in jewel cases for $10.

HomeLAN Fed has posted another Tribes Council Report looking back at day two of this Sierra event where developers and some community members talk about the future of the game. It has some more info on the relaunch of Tribes 2 and such.

Earlier this year, a new Tribes game was announced. Tribes: Fast Attack was to be a standalone single-player game along with multiplayer options for small teams. HomeLAN Fed has learned at Sierra's Tribes Council event that this game has been cancelled. Tribes 2 will be relaunched for $10 later this year instead, fully patched and all.
