Publisher Ubisoft has announced that it will be transitioning the hosting of many of its online services "from a third-party data center to a new facility" on February 7. During the transition, which is meant to "improve the maintenance of our infrastructure and deliver better uptime and greatly improved services for our customers," some Ubisoft titles across a number of platforms will be completely or partially unplayable.

Microsoft has once again outlined the next two weeks of Xbox Live Marketplace Arcade games, discounts, Games on Demand, and other assorted goodies.
Halo: Reach delivered digitally through Games on Demand will be $49.99 for one week only, starting today, no doubt to promote the launch of the Defiant Map Pack. If you fancy seeing how well your PC can run Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X. 2, want to give the old grey box a workout or just like seeing planes flying around in your monitor, Ubisoft has released a benchmark based upon the air combat title, available on FileShack.
The benchmark runs a short in-game scene then reports back with your average and maximum frames per second scores--not the most in-depth analysis but certainly enough to give a fair indication of how it'll run and to compare excitedly with your chums. Read more »

As expected, this trailer for Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X. 2 includes a lot of high-flying, plane-based action. The game, developed by Ubisoft Romania, is due out this fall.

After announcing Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X. 2 with little in the way of details, publisher Ubisoft today unleashed variety of details on Ubisoft Romania's PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii aerobatic action game along with some screenshots.

Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X. developer Ubisoft Bucharest (previously Ubisoft Romania) is readying a sequel to the aerobatic action game, publisher Ubisoft has revealed.
Simply titled Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X. 2, the sequel is due out on PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii during the "Fall 2010" release window.
Few details of the sequel were provided, with Ubisoft noting that it will appeal to a wide array of gamers as players will have the chance to control exceptional pilots trained to use cutting edge technology in amazing aerial warfare missions." Read more »
