When there's an international incident afoot, it's nice to have a team handy that can clean it up with discretion. The crack squad of operatives to whom such tasks fall and their missions have defined Ghost Recon games. After numerous delays the latest installment, Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, is finally ready to deploy. It upholds the tradition well with strong catch-the-enemy-off-guard stealth mechanics, fun tech to play with, and a solid set of new features.

The long-awaited Ghost Recon: Future Soldier beta is coming soon. The multiplayer test session will run for about two weeks: from April 19th through May 2nd on both Xbox 360 and PS3.
While the beta was originally unveiled as an Xbox 360-exclusive, access has been expanded on both platforms. Owners of the Xbox 360 version of Splinter Cell Conviction will be able to access the beta "directly through the game." If you don't have the game on-hand, another option will be to pre-order Future Soldier from GameStop for a beta code.

Facebook tie-in games for triple-A releases were all the rage a couple of years ago, but fewer publishers seem to be putting time into them nowadays. Ubisoft is keeping the faith, though, with a new Facebook game titled Ghost Recon: Commander, which will connect with the upcoming Ghost Recon: Future Soldier.
John Romero and Brenda Brathwaite's studio Loot Drop is working on the game. Brathwaite is serving as lead designer.

The next Tom Clancy game is set to arrive on Xbox 360 and PS3 on May 22nd, and it will have you utilizing a number of futuristic gadgets--from cloaking to sensors that see through walls--to take down hostiles and save civilians.
