Watch the Ghost Recon Alpha short film right now

Ubisoft has released Ghost Recon Alpha, a 25-minute film that leads into the events of the upcoming Ghost Recon: Future Soldier. Directed by Hervé de Crécy and François Alaux, Alpha follows the four playable soldiers as they try to take out a wanted war criminal. The events of the movie lead to a key event in the game: a devastating attack on a major European city.

Ghost Recon Network to offer multiplatform access to stats and weapons

Not unlike a certain big-name competitor, Ubisoft has announced a companion stats service for the upcoming Ghost Recon: Future Soldier. Called the "Ghost Recon Network," the online service promises to let players "be a spec op 24/7."

Ghost Recon Network will give access to personal performance stats, leaderboards, challenges, friend activity, community updates, heatmaps, and more via the online interface and an upcoming iOS and Android app.

Ghost Recon: Future Soldier beta begins April 19th

The long-awaited Ghost Recon: Future Soldier beta is coming soon. The multiplayer test session will run for about two weeks: from April 19th through May 2nd on both Xbox 360 and PS3.

While the beta was originally unveiled as an Xbox 360-exclusive, access has been expanded on both platforms. Owners of the Xbox 360 version of Splinter Cell Conviction will be able to access the beta "directly through the game." If you don't have the game on-hand, another option will be to pre-order Future Soldier from GameStop for a beta code.

Ghost Recon: Commander coming to Facebook

Facebook tie-in games for triple-A releases were all the rage a couple of years ago, but fewer publishers seem to be putting time into them nowadays. Ubisoft is keeping the faith, though, with a new Facebook game titled Ghost Recon: Commander, which will connect with the upcoming Ghost Recon: Future Soldier.

John Romero and Brenda Brathwaite's studio Loot Drop is working on the game. Brathwaite is serving as lead designer.

After a lengthy and awkward silence on the PC edition of Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, Ubisoft has finally opened up and shared, well, most things you might want to know. Ghost Recon: Future Soldier beta coming in April for PlayStation Plus members

PlayStation Plus members are entitled to a number of games as part of their subscription. In April, Plus subscribers will be able to download Shift 2 Unleashed, Shank 2, Frogger Returns, Canabalt, and the very original Silent Hill.

While this content alone makes April a banner month for Sony's premium subscription service, there is an extra bonus that should serve as a cherry on top for Plus members: access to the Ghost Recon: Future Soldier beta.

It's the provocative tagline to Ubisoft's long-delayed Ghost Recon: Future Soldier. The next Tom Clancy game is set to arrive on Xbox 360 and PS3 on May 22nd, and it will have you utilizing a number of futuristic gadgets--from cloaking to sensors that see through walls--to take down hostiles and save civilians.

Ghost Recon: Future Soldier delayed to May; beta coming to Xbox 360 and PS3

After a development cycle so long that some of its original futuristic concepts are probably now a reality, Ubisoft has announced Ghost Recon: Future Soldier will launch on May 22 in North America and May 24 in Europe for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. And continuing Ubisoft's track record, the PC version of the game won't be available until "a later date."

Ghost Recon: Future Soldier coming March 6

Earlier today, a plethora of retailers revealed that Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Solider would arrive on March 6, 2012. Moments ago, Ubisoft has confirmed the date.

The near-future game features the Ghost Recon team venturing to far off locales such as Norway and the Middle East, to combat a force that have occupied Russia.
