The World Ends With You, Square Enix's cult DS RPG game, may be getting a follow-up. Square Enix has launched a brand new Japanese teaser site with typography and music reminiscent of the classic title. Perhaps even more significant is the copyright at the bottom, which reveals Tetsuya Nomura and Gen Kobayashi's involvement--both were character designers in the original game.
Recently, Square Enix also published Kingdom Hearts 3D for the 3DS, which featured a cameo of Neku, the main character of the original DS game. It seems like the stars are aligning for a continuation of the franchise. Even Square Enix has expressed interest in making one.

Since the breakout hit The World Ends With You launched on the Nintendo DS in 2008, role-playing game fanatics have been clamoring for a sequel. Thankfully for those fans, creator Tetsuya Nomura has also shown interest in continuing the critically acclaimed series.

Square Enix announced today that its stylish action RPG The World Ends With You (NDS) will hit retail shelves on April 22.
