The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword isn't shaking up the tried-and-true Zelda formula too dramatically. But, Nintendo is making baby-steps with introducing new ideas to the franchise, and getting the obtrusive Wii remote HUD off the screen seems like one we'll appreciate. Skyward Sword will actually feature three interface options to suit the varieties of players.

When Nintendo said that the upcoming Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword would be "like a school drama," they weren't kidding. Link must deal with all the challenges of school life, including a bully. Yes, apparently Heroes of Time can get picked on in school too!
To make things even more awkward, the headmaster of Link's school is Zelda's father. And, as evidenced by the "Romance" trailer released by Nintendo today, he and Zelda seem a lot more friendly in this latest adventure.

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword is one of the last truly big games coming to the Wii. It's also one of the few games on the console that makes Wii MotionPlus use mandatory. If you don't have an enhanced controller yet, or if you simply want to get something shiny and limited edition, Nintendo has something for you. A special bundle will launch simultaneously with the game on November 20th, one that includes a gold Wii Remote Plus controller.

The next proper Legend of Zelda game has finally been given a date. Unlike Twilight Princess, however, Nintendo notes that this entry has been "created from the ground up for the Wii console," and will require the Wii MotionPlus and Nunchuck controllers.

Surprisingly little has been revealed about The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword's story. However, that's changing thanks to a very revealing interview in the latest issue of Famitsu (via 1UP). Long-time series producer Eiji Aonuma discussed how the games breaks from series convention and how it ties into previous games in the series. Obviously, some may consider these points spoilers, so you may want to skip the rest of this article if you don't want to get story details.
In Skyward Sword, Zelda will simply be a childhood friend of Link's. "She's not a princess this time," Aonuma emphasizes. So, how do Zelda and Link know each other? Well, apparently they go to the same school. "Link, Zelda and their other friends all go to the same boarding school, and you've got teachers and a principal as well. It's a bit of a different setting from previous Zelda [games]." Read more »

Dragon Age 2: Some fans are approaching this sequel with trepidation. The first game's varied prologues and rich customization features have been replaced by a more focused origin story and lead character. Baldur's Gate-style command combat is getting a more fast-paced approach. The game seems to be drifting more towards action than strategic combat. Read more »
