House of the Dead: Overkill comes to iOS with virtual analog controls

The House of the Dead: Overkill is making its way to iOS devices soon. "The Lost Reels" is a "remixed" version of the original Wii light gun shooter.

The initial $4.99 download includes two "movies," each with four levels and a boss fight: Papa's Palce of Pain and Ballistic Trauma. Additionally movies can be purchased for $1.99 via in-app purchase.

Sony is kicking off a new year's sale tomorrow on the PlayStation Store, making for some deep discounts for all users and even deeper ones for PlayStation Plus members. The standard discount on the titles is 50% off, but Plus members can take advantage of 75% off, which makes some of the games just two to four bucks apiece.

House of the Dead: Overkill PS3 supports anaglyphic 3D

If you've got some old-school red-cyan 3D glasses lying around, you can dust them off to check out the new anaglyphic 3D screens for the PS3 "Extended Cut" of The House of the Dead: Overkill in all their glory. I got my hands on some of the gallery-shooter in stereoscopic 3D back at E3; however, it's nice to know that there will be a cheap 3D option for those who aren't quite ready or able to foot the bill for a 3D television.

QUICKTAKE: Back in February of 2009, the on-rails zombie-shooter, House of the Dead: Overkill, was released for the Wii. Its grindhouse presentation--complete with a film-grain effect, buckets of gore, and enough f-bombs to level a small village--made for an intense, often funny experience. House of the Dead: Overkill - Extended Cut is a high-definition reboot of the game in development for the PlayStation 3 that incorporates PlayStation Move and 3D support, as well as two new and exclusive levels.

House of the Dead: Overkill getting PS3 port

Because you can never have too many zombie games, Sega announced today that the B-movie inspired Wii game House of the Dead: Overkill is getting a PlayStation 3 Extended Cut version. The game is set for October 25 in the US, and October 28 in Europe.
