The Grinder Switches Perspectives on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, Staying FPS on Wii

While developer High Voltage still plans on bringing The Grinder to other platforms than just the Wii, it turns out that those other versions won't be of the same genre.

The Wii version of the Left 4 Dead-inspired supernatural shooter is still planned as a first-person shooter, the Conduit series developer tells IGN, but the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions will be a top-down third-person effort similar to the studio's previous work Hunter: The Reckoning. The Grinder No Longer Wii Exclusive; Coming to PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 Too

Revealed last year as a Wii exclusive, High Voltage's Left 4 Dead-inspired cooperative vampire shooter The Grinder is now coming to PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 as well.

As a result of the shift to multiple platforms, the game will miss its previous release window--"holiday 2010"--and is now instead due circa Halloween 2011. "With the move to all of the current-generation systems, higher resolution art content needs to be created which takes a bit longer than our previous games," studio president Kerry Ganofsk explained to IGN. High Voltage Reveals Gory Wii Gladiator Game, Cooperative Werewolf Shooter

As publisher Sega prepares to release High Voltage Software's Wii first-person shooter The Conduit on June 23, the developer has unveiled two additional Wii titles.

The first, The Grinder, is a cooperative shooter that pits up to four players against undead and supernatural creatures of the night, such as werewolfs and vampires. Read more »
