You may be the Dovahkiin and all, but if you've run the length of Skyrim backwards and forwards you might be craving a little extra challenge. The game's 1.9 update plans to fix all that, and PC players can already download the beta to take advantage of the new features and bug fixes.

When I initially played the previous downloadable content for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, nothing seemed amiss. The handful of new areas and pieces of loot littered around the familiar landscape were what I had come to expect from DLC. But now that I've played the "Dragonborn" expansion, the others simply pale in comparison. It's more ambitious, more thematically relevant, and a perfect example of Bethesda's promise to take its time with fully-featured content.

The Walking Dead was the big winner at the 2012 VGAs tonight, taking home five awards for Game of the Year, Best Downloadable Game, Best Performance by a Human Female for Clementine, Best Adapted Video Game, and Best Studio for developer Telltale Games. Gearbox Software's Borderlands 2 took home Best Shooter, Best Multiplayer, Best Performance by a Human Male for Handsome Jack, and the fan-voted Character of the Year for Claptrap. Journey took home three awards for developer thatgamecompany, including Best PS3 Game, Best Original Score and Best Independent Game.

If you were unlucky enough to pick the PlayStation 3 as your platform of choice for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, your hopes for extra content have been as cold and barren as Skyrim itself. The Xbox 360 has been first to the party due to exclusivity arrangements, and the PC has the mod scene to keep it occupied while it waits, but Bethesda has had serious setbacks on PS3. The company has announced that it is putting aside the PS3 releases of Dawnguard and Hearthfire for the time being to focus on the latest expansion, Dragonborn.
