Consoles see few flight simulators; it's a genre that enjoyed its heyday on the PC years ago but has only managed a few standout titles since then on any platform. Even so, what games there were rarely included helicopters, much less featured them. As a dedicated helicopter flight sim, Apache: Air Assault enters virtually uncontested skies.

Three new demos have appeared on the Xbox Live Marketplace today, giving players a taste of the latest (and upcoming) titles to land on the Xbox 360.
Demos for the latest Harmonix music title Rock Band 3, the motion-controlled Kinect Joy Ride from BigPark, and Activision's upcoming helicopter action-title Apache: Air Assault are all available for download on the Marketplace now. Each demo is exclusive to Xbox Live Gold members. Read more »

Apache: Air Assault publisher Activision has pinned the helicopter combat sim's "fall" release date down to November 9 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
Coming from by IL-2 Sturmovik: Birds of Prey developer Gaijin Entertainment, Air Assault packs "16 multi-stage missions" in such exotic locales as Central American jungle and the mountains of Central Asia. You'll get to shoot things there, naturally. Read more »

Your undying dream of a dedicated combat helicopter game has finally come true as Activision has announced Apache: Air Assault for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Developed by Gaijin Entertainment--otherwise known as the team behind IL-2 Sturmovik: Birds of Prey--Apache: Air Assault will fly into stores this fall.
Apache: Air Assault features "more than 16 multi-stage missions," in varying locales around the world, including Africa, Middle East and Central America. "Apache: Air Assault offers fun for diehard military enthusiasts and flight sim fans as well as gamers who just want to blow stuff up," Activision's David Oxford said. Read more »
