Gooseman's Tactical Intervention launching in spring

Thirteen years after its initial mod release, the original Counter-Strike is still hugely popular, hitting over 70,000 concurrent players even on weekdays. Creator Minh 'Gooseman' Le has kept a low profile for years, but his new shooter, the free-to-play Tactical Intervention, is now lined up for a spring launch.

Minh "Gooseman" Le's new game Tactical Intervention is scheduled to launch in the United States in the first half of 2011, according to a poorly translated press release by publisher FIX Korea.

In Europe, the game should have "service testing starting at the end of this year" through European publisher Mayn Interactive. You can make an attempt at a beta key at the game's European website. It might be launching in South Korea now, but the press release isn't very clear on that. Read more »

Minh Le, co-creator of the original Counter-Strike, has announced a new PC multiplayer shooter called Tactical Intervention.

After seeing his amateur mod become an unprecedented hit, Le joined Valve in 2000 to work on Counter-Strike in a professional capacity. According to IGN, Le worked on Counter-Strike 2 for a time, but the project "never really got off the ground" and was "put on the shelf." Read more »
