Homing attack
Spin in mid-air, then immediately press Z to hit the nearest target.

Flying Mario
To get flying Mario, you need to get the sixth Grand Star that will open two new domes, "The Garden" and "The Gate". Enter "The Gate" dome, and talk to the red Luma that gives you a challenge to get all 100 purple coins. He will give you a red star that makes you fly after you spin in midair. After finishing that challenge, the same red stars will appear in the observatory to make Mario fly.

Higher jumps
To jump even higher than a triple jump, first do a triple jump. At the peak of your third jump, spin. This will make you jump higher so you can reach things that are too high to reach with a triple jump.

Assistant
While playing the game, use a second Wii-mote. Although a second player will not appear, the second Wii-mote will have its own pointer, allowing another player to assist by collecting items and helping Mario's jumps.

Unlimited 1-Up Mushrooms
When you find any hidden 1 up mushrooms at the comet observatory, get it and go into one of the rooms. When you return it will be there again.

1up in good egg galaxy
There is a secret 1up in good egg galaxy. It's on the planet just before the planet with the egg on it. This planel involves jumping up onto stones to get to the sling star. if you go around the back of the stones, there is a hidden 1up.

Defeating the monster in good egg galaxy
Here are a few things you can do if you're having difficulty killing the monster in good egg galaxy. The aim is to get up close to its tail and spin so its tail springs onto his head. You will need to do this several times. Try to get lots of one ups so you have lots of chances before you have to do the galaxy again. When the monster sppeds up after a couple of tail flicks, NEVER change direction. You are slightly fater them the monster, and if you keep going in the same directing you will eventually reach his tail. If you change direction, you loose a lot of speed and the monster will catch up to you.

9999 Starbits
Go to gizmos and gadgets galaxy, get the starbits at the beginning then get the 1 up mushroom then jump on the ball and keep on going and when you see lines of starbits, kill yourself and keep repeating the method until you get 999 starbits then finish the level and then go back and repeat the method.

Second Wii Controller
If you have a Wii Remote assigned as controller two another player can use it to assist with freezing of certain enemies throughout the game as well as collecting star bits.

Secrets
Starting Boost When Racing Cosmic Mario When the countdown timer starts as you are racing Cosmic Mario, hold forward, then as it hits 2, hold down on Z to crouch, and when the race starts hit A right away and you will turn yellow for a few seconds and get a really good boost that will put you way ahead of Cosmic Mario.

Hidden Character *SPOILERS*
Get all 120 stars. Return to Rosalina on the Comet Observatory and request to fight Bowser again. Finish the credits and you will get a message saying that Luigi is now playable.

Grand Finale Galaxy and Star 121 *SPOILERS*
To unlock the final star and galaxy, collect all 120 stars with Luigi and beat Bowser. Doing so unlocks the Grand Finale Galaxy, which is the Star Festival seen in the beginning of the game. Collecting the 100 purple coins in this galaxy gets you the final star.

Death Count
The Grand Finale Galaxy, which is the secret galaxy that can be unlocked after 120 Stars are gathered with both Mario and Luigi, holds another secret. Once this final Star from the stage is acquired with both Mario and Luigi, you will be able to see your death count on your save file. You can now see how many times you died while playing the game with both Mario and Luigi.

All coconuts become watermelons.
Collect 9999 star bits in the hub, and all the coconuts in the game become watermelons.

Grand Finale Galaxy and Star 121 for Mario and Luigi
