Street Fighter X Tekken crash fix coming in June

A game-crashing Street Fighter X Tekken bug that snuck into the fighter with the last update should be fixed by mid-June, Capcom has said. The glitch is a nasty one, likely to bring the game tumbling down in fairly common circumstances.

Street Fighter X Tekken available for PC, DLC 'not on the disc'

In the two months since Street Fighter X Tekken was released for consoles, you might have reasonably forgotten that the PC version was scheduled for today. The PC version is mostly free of bells and whistles, besides a few key standard features like support for different resolutions, keyboards, and a benchmark tool.

Tekken will 'never sell' DLC characters

Tekken will 'never sell' DLC characters

Capcom has been at odds with its fans over its DLC practices. However, although Namco Bandai and Capcom collaborated on Street Fighter x Tekken, the two companies don't quite adopt the same business strategies. Tekken producer Katsuhiro Harada has stated he doesn't plan to ever charge for characters.

"This isn’t really directed at Capcom, I have always said this, but I see the characters and their move sets as chess pieces - they are essential items necessary in the game and we would never sell any of those individually."

Street Fighter X Tekken sports PS3-Vita cross-platform play

Street Fighter X Tekken sports PS3-Vita cross-platform play

At Capcom's "Captivate" event, the company announced an unsurprising but nevertheless nifty feature for Street Fighter X Tekken. Once the Vita version hits this fall, you can play cross-platform against PlayStation 3 owners, via Wi-Fi or 3G. We would say to play 3G at your own risk against console owners with months of experience and access to fight sticks, but that's your prerogative.

Street Fighter x Tekken review

Street Fighter x Tekken review

Two worlds no one ever thought would collide. I don't mean on a conceptual level; I can grasp the idea of fighters from Capcom's Street Fighter and Namco's Tekken squaring off. From a mechanical perspective, however, nobody would have foreseen a way for 2D and 3D fighting to co-exist. Or, as the case turned out to be, the flattening of Tekken to 2D that will leave many of its fans wanting. Street Fighter x Tekken (SFxT) forms an unlikely tag team, but will satisfy many fans of Capcom's long line of crossover fighters.

Shacknews Daily: Apr 03, 2012 - Batman DLC, Amazon video on PS3

Shacknews Daily: Apr 03, 2012 - Batman DLC, Amazon video on PS3

In a response to a Better Business Bureau complaint, Capcom says of Street Fighter x Tekken DLC being on the disc already that there's 'no distinction' between that and a full download other than delivery mechanism. It's probably time to start calling this content something other than "downloadable" then. Newly found trophies for the PS3 point to more story content coming our way for Batman: Arkham City. It also sounds like Robin may make it out of the challenge maps and out on his own for some of the extra adventuring. And the PlayStation 3 got a nice addition to its entertainment options today with Amazon's instant video service hitting the console complete with access for Amazon Prime members to 17,000+ free to stream shows and movies.

Capcom says 'no distinction' between on-disc and DLC

Capcom says 'no distinction' between on-disc and DLC

On-disc DLC tends to ruffle feathers, making gamers feel like they're forced to shell out more money for content they've already bought. The dust was most recently kicked up in the case of Street Fighter X Tekken, when it was revealed that the large roster update coming to Vita much later in the year is already on-disc in the console versions, ready to be purchased for 20 bucks when Capcom flips the switch.

Street Fighter x Tekken DLC characters to cost $20

Capcom announced that the Vita version of Street Fighter x Tekken would feature 12 additional characters not included with the launch version of the game. Eventually, after some pestering, Capcom had to admit that the 12 characters would come to the consoles as DLC.

Today, Capcom revealed that all 12 characters--Blanka, Sakura, Guy, Cody, Elena, Dudley, Alisa, Bryan, Christie, Jack, Lars, and Lei--will be downloadable in a $20 (1600 Microsoft Points) bundle. They will be unlockable "soon after the PlayStation Vita version launches later this year."

Street Fighter X Tekken producer apologizes to 360 players

The PlayStation 3 seems like the place to go for Street Fighter X Tekken, if for no other reason than the extra characters. But the Xbox 360 version also lacks the ability to play the four-player co-op online with a local partner, and for that, one of the producers has apologized.

Street Fighter x Tekken Vita characters will be available on console eventually

Street Fighter x Tekken Vita characters will be available on console eventually

In just a few days, fans will be able to play what should've been an impossibility: a crossover between the world warriors of Street Fighter and the kings of Tekken. Ahead of its March 6th release, Capcom held a launch party for Street Fighter x Tekken in downtown Los Angeles. There, I caught up with Capcom's community manager, Seth Killian.

I brought up the recent announcement of the Vita version of SFxT and how it would introduce a dozen new characters. While it was exciting to learn about the new additions (including Killian's personal favorite, Elena), I brought up concerns of how soon these characters would reach console players. Killian assured me that console players would get these characters at some point. "We'll find a way to make sure that console fans are happy, as well."
