Steel Battalion: Line of Contact Tips & Tricks

  • All Free mode VTs, parts, maps, and items

    Enter the configuration menu, then select the option for the controller settings. Then, press F1 + Tank Detach + FSS + Override + Night Scope, F1 + F2 + F3 + Tank Detach + FSS + Override + Night Scope + Line Color Change, F1 + F2 + F3 + FSS + Override + Line Color Change, F1 + F2 + F3 + FSS + Override + Line Color Change, F1 + F3 + Tank Detach + FSS + Override + Night Scope + Line Color Change, then press EJECT-CMD. A sound will confirm correct code entry.

  • Rapid fire weapons

    This trick can be used by players who are on the PRF (Pacific Rim) faction or those who have stolen the Mechs with assault rifle or rapid fire (200 AR, 270 AR, 315 RF). Normally you can only fire three bursts and your gun reloads. By using this trick, you can fire three bursts fast. As soon as you fire your gun, quickly press Magazine Change and your gun can fire immediately again. This eats up your ammunition, but you can always get more at a supply station. Be careful; if you do this often other players will ignore you online.

Steel Battalion: Line of Contact Unlockables

  • Movie viewer option

    Finish the game under normal difficulty. The MOVIE VIEWER option will be unlocked in the configuration menu at the main menu.

  • Pause your game

    Disconnect the controller during a mission to stop the game during a mission. Plug the controller back in and press Start to resume.

  • Spotlight in free mode

    On one of the towers in mission 20 is Lieutenant Silver Star. Grab him with the manipulator arm and After finishing the mission you will unlock the spotlight in free mode. Activate the spotlight by pressing F2.

  • Jump flight ability

    By winning mission 23 under the magnum force difficulty setting. Push Start + F3 during a mission and repeatedly jump to get higher.

  • Black and white graphics

    After winning mission 23 under veteran difficulty. Push Start + Night Scope during the mission loading screen to switch between black and white and color graphics.

  • Unlimited ammunition and fuel

    By logging in 100 hours and resetting the game and win 2080 mode one more time. Push Start + Reload during the loading screen to unlock unlimited ammunition and fuel

  • Mech and level select in free mission mode

    Move the tuner to the following positions at the title screen in order, with a one second pause before moving to the next position: 1, 9, 7, 9, 0, 9, 0, 6. You will hear a sound if you have entered the code correctly. REMEMBER: Position "0" is on the left end of the dial, position "4" is at the top of the dial, etc.

  • Rapier mech

    Win ten decorations to unlock the Rapier VT.

  • Quasar mech

    Begin game play on mission 7 or 17. Enter the second floor of the enemy base and move into the small room to your left. Defeat mech inside and move to the large box with a switch in the rear. The Quasar mech is inside.

  • Juggernaut mech

    Get to the rank to Colonel to unlock the Juggernaut VT.

  • Remove HUD

    Get to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Then, push Ignition + Start while playing the game.

  • Lower mech

    Finish the game under desperado difficulty. Push Hatch + Start while playing the game to lower your mech.

  • Desperado difficulty

    Finish the game under veteran difficulty.

  • Voice select option

    Finish the game under veteran difficulty. The VOICE SELECT option will be unlocked in the configuration menu at the main menu.
